John McCain for all his smirking during last night’s debate, and despite prompting from host Jim Lehrer, couldn’t look directly at the next President while condescendingly, and sometimes erroneously, (Pakistan as a failed state), insulting him. Meanwhile Obama looked directly at McCain while confronting him on his Iraq misjudgments – WMD, easy victory, greeted [...]

Commenting on John McCain’s “fact free smear” of SEC chairman Chris Cox George Will elaborated on his comments on ABC (Stephanopoulos) that McCain appeared unpresidential during the financial turmoil of the previous week. In McCain Loses His Head Will asks point blank whether McCain’s “Queen of Hearts, off with their heads” responses indicate that he [...]

Yesterday John McCain lost his temper and called a press conference to denounce Barack Obama and demand an apology for his comments about pigs and fish in which Obama said with reference to McCain’s commitment to change that:
“Obama uttered the phrase in the midst of ridiculing the Republican nominee’s commitment to change. “John McCain says [...]

People expect politicians to fib, stretch the truth and exaggerate but an outright lie is usually more troublesome. (Unless it is strung together with other lies to justify starting a war against a country that had not attacked).
It is now clear that Sarah Palin was introduced by the McCain campaign using two major lies – [...]

The Palin Speech last night motivated the Bush-McCain base to the tune of $1,000,000 BUT her speech raised $8,000,000 for the Obama-Biden team as reported by Nico Pitney on the Huff:
“an Obama aide told the Huffington Post that the campaign has raised $8 million since her speech last night “from over 130,000 donors – on [...]

John McCain has been wrong about Iraq in the beginning when he pushed and pushed hard for the war and in the end when he pushed for an unending war even while Bush and Iraq negotiated a timetable to end the war. Mark Levy has put together a chronology of Bomb Bomb McCain’s role in [...]

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away the talking heads assured us that Hillary Clinton was the inevitable nominee of the Democratic Party. The talking heads underestimated Obama’s considerable skills and intellect, his soaring oratory, his charisma, his self discipline and the incredible organizing talents that he and his top advisers brought [...]
